Eliza Dennison Wiggin and Child
Eliza Dennison Wiggin and Child
Like other portraitists of his day, Wiggin traveled in order to secure work, relying on the local press to announce his arrival and solicit business. In 1856, Wiggin and Eliza Ann Dennison of Gloucester were married. This portrait of Eliza and an unknown child was painted by Wiggin in 1856, inspired in part by a daguerreotype.
