Moses B. Russell

Moses B. Russell was best known as a painter of miniatures, working primarily in the Boston area. His portrait of the Wonson Twins is one of just a handful of full-size portraits he is known to have been done. The strong colors and bold decoration captured in the boys' attire and the props that surround them, were highly favored during the early Victorian period and contribute to this painting's lively composition.
