Sharing a part of history

June 20, 2014

Gloucester Daily Times - A number of Cape Ann residents visited the Times offices on Whittemore Street Thursday to share their historic Gloucester photos and have them scanned to be included in the upcoming book “Gloucester: America’s Oldest Seaport.”

The heirloom-quality book, to be published early next year, is being developed by the Times and its North of Boston Media Group in cooperation with the Cape Ann Museum and Sawyer Free Library, and anyone with historic photos is invited to share them with the community through the book.

A second photo scanning session is slated for today, also at the Times, from 9 a.m. to noon, with a third session set for Saturday, again from 9 to noon, at the Sawyer Free Library, 2 Dale Ave.
