The Addison Gilbert Hospital Art Collection

The Cape Ann Museum is pleased to showcase artwork from the 300-plus piece collection of the Addison Gilbert Hospital, located here in Gloucester.  On display from August 11 through October 8, 2023, at the Janet & William Ellery James Center, the exhibition was organized in connection with Gloucester’s 400+ celebration.  Included in the exhibition are works by Anthony Thieme, Alice Beach Winter, Peter Vincent, Charles Movalli and many other artists.  Founded in 1889, the Addison Gilbert Hospital, now part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, has been a vital part of the Cape Ann community for generations and, over the years, individuals and families have shown their gratitude by gifting artwork to it to be displayed throughout their Washington Street facility.
